March 2025 Safety Results
As part of our Annual Safety Month, the Facilities & Planning team is pleased to share the results of the 2025 SOM Mandatory Safety Awareness Survey. Conducted in February-March, this survey helped assess safety awareness across departments and provided insight into how we can better support and inform our community. The survey allowed Department Managers and their teams to evaluate their familiarity with safety protocols, identify safety equipment locations, and access available resources. We appreciate everyone who participated and are using the results to guide future improvements in communication and preparedness.
SOM Emergency Survey Results March 2025
Key Findings:
- Safety App: Approximately 60% of staff have downloaded the UCR Safe app. We encourage those who haven’t yet to do so—we’ll share more about its features next week.
- Emergency Supplies: 84% of respondents correctly identified that shelter-in-place duffels are located in staff lounges. If you’re unsure of their location, please take a moment to locate them.
- Phone Trees: 70% of departments reported having a phone tree in place. We aim to increase this through the distribution of updated red binders with contact rosters, which began during the April fire drill.
- Intranet Awareness: The survey question with the lowest correct response (0%) asked about where to find emergency exit and safety information on the SOM Intranet.
