SOM Students Safety Communications
SOM Students Safety Awareness (Monthly Emails)
As part of SOM Facilities Planning's ongoing SOM Safety Awareness & Disaster Preparedness Initiative, this section provides monthly safety communications and tips to students, faculty, and staff focused on emergency preparedness, building safety, and awareness of available campus resources. Topics throughout the year include building safety walks and evacuation routes, active shooter awareness, RAVE emergency notification testing, tailgating and building access security, classroom emergency and student distress response, de-escalation strategies, fire drills, accessibility considerations during evacuations, and earthquake preparedness. These monthly communications are intended to provide practical information our SOM community can use before and during an emergency, while also helping everyone become more familiar with the resources, procedures, and notification systems available to them.
